Cinnamon Salted Caramel Doughnuts Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
Salted Caramel:
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tsp sea salt
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, melted butter, egg, and milk.
Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and mix until a dough forms.
Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease a doughnut pan.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
Use a doughnut cutter or a round cookie cutter to cut out the doughnuts.
Place the doughnuts in the prepared pan and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
While the doughnuts are baking, prepare the salted caramel by heating the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar turns a golden brown color.
Remove the pan from heat and add in the butter and heavy cream, stirring until well combined. Stir in the sea salt.
Allow the doughnuts to cool slightly before drizzling with the salted caramel.
Serve warm and enjoy!
