Cheesy Sausage Puff Pastry Rolls Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 sausages (or 200g sausage meat)
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (for topping, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. If using whole sausages, remove the casing.
  3. Spread a thin layer of mustard over the pastry (optional), then sprinkle with garlic powder.
  4. Place the sausage meat in a long line down the center of the pastry. Sprinkle cheese on top.
  5. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  6. Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  7. Cut into bite-sized pieces or leave whole, then transfer to the baking tray.
  8. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
