Ingredients:
1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
100g cream cheese or ricotta
1 tomato (finely diced)
1/2 onion (thinly sliced or finely chopped)
1/2 bell pepper (optional, finely diced)
Fresh parsley or chives (chopped)
Grated cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix)
Cooked ham or salami slices (optional)
1 egg (for egg wash)
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Prepare the filling:
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, diced tomato, onion, herbs, salt, and pepper.
You can also add grated cheese and finely chopped ham/salami.
Roll and shape:
Roll out the puff pastry sheet.
Cut it into rectangles or strips.
Place a line of filling down the center of each strip.
Fold each strip lengthwise and gently twist it to form the twisted shape as shown in the top image.
Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Brush with egg wash (1 beaten egg) for a golden finish.
Bake for about 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
Garnish (optional):
Sprinkle with a bit of chopped parsley or sesame seeds after baking.
